ITALY – Very nice high value grouping of close to two thousand issues in total combining 19^th century classics from the very dawn of Italian philately (featuring an impressive ratio of mint issues with gum!) and then running into the middle of the 20^th century neatly stacked on Scott numbered stock pages. The selection includes a densely populated early period section boasting such standouts like mint #20 (3), 27, 44, 58-63, 81 (NH), 81a (2), 112, 125 (NH), 159-164, 349-354, used #17, 20 (2), 64a, and numerous others! Overall, duplication levels are tightly controlled and very seldom do they spike past a dozen mark. This is an old school national selection that comes from a former major US stamp dealer and it does feel in so many ways more akin to a collection (even if fragmented) rather than stock.
