Suddenly the recession, at least as it affects the stamp business, is over. The great fall off in stamp demand and prices that began in September of 2008 started leveling off in August or September and now we seem to be experiencing a little boom. Most of our dealer customers who sell on the Internet are reporting increased sales and several have said business has never been better. Our auction sales are up, liquidity of our customers has mostly improved and prices are higher. These are all good signs. Much of the increase seems to be concentrated in non-US material and some of this has to do with the fall off of the dollar. Still the difference in market feel between now and last Spring is palpable and points to a strong Winter. If you are a seller please email me your experiences in this regard as I’d like to set up an informal survey
